Job Description: Junior/Intermediate Quantity Surveyor
Location: Galway Office/On-site
Leading Mechanical Engineering Company
Key Responsibilities

Cost Management: Assist in preparing and managing project budgets, cost plans, and financial forecasts.
Valuations: Support the preparation and submission of monthly valuations, including variations and final accounts.
Procurement: Coordinate the procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
Tendering: Assist with the preparation of tender submissions and evaluation of subcontractor quotations.
Risk Management: Identify potential cost and project risks, and provide recommendations for mitigation.
Site Work: Visit project sites to monitor progress and ensure compliance with budgetary and contractual requirements.
Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to the senior QS and project management team.
Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.

Key Requirements

Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably in the construction or mechanical services sectors.
- Experience with mechanical projects is desirable but not essential.
Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
Skills:
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in both office and site environments.
Technical Knowledge:
- Familiarity with Irish construction standards, contracts, and regulations.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam).
Flexibility: Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
