Job Description: Junior/Intermediate Quantity Surveyor
Location: Galway Office/On-site

Key Responsibilities
  • Cost Management: Assist in preparing and managing project budgets, cost plans, and financial forecasts.
  • Valuations: Support the preparation and submission of monthly valuations, including variations and final accounts.
  • Procurement: Coordinate the procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Tendering: Assist with the preparation of tender submissions and evaluation of subcontractor quotations.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential cost and project risks, and provide recommendations for mitigation.
  • Site Work: Visit project sites to monitor progress and ensure compliance with budgetary and contractual requirements.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to the senior QS and project management team.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
Key Requirements
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably in the construction or mechanical services sectors.
    • Experience with mechanical projects is desirable but not essential.
  • Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in both office and site environments.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with Irish construction standards, contracts, and regulations.
    • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam).
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
