Position Summary:
Join our team as a Health & Safety Advisor focused on ensuring safety and well-being in the construction utilities sector. As a pivotal member of our team, you will actively contribute to enhancing operations and cultivating a safety-conscious culture.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments tailored to the civil engineering environment.
  • Investigate incidents thoroughly and report findings accurately to facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Develop and deliver employee training programs to promote safety awareness and compliance.
  • Perform regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Create and maintain health and safety documentation, meticulously logging all relevant information.
  • Ensure compliance with current safety regulations and collaborate with departments to address safety concerns effectively.

Key Skills Required:

  • Excellent proficiency in English, particularly in report writing and statement acquisition.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with various departments and managers.
  • Proficient in drafting and delivering PowerPoint presentations and conducting ongoing toolbox talks.
  • Reporting directly to the Health & Safety Manager, with occasional liaison with company directors.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Occupational Safety and Health Management (Level 8) or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience demonstrating a track record of operational improvement and increased safety awareness.
  • Advantageous qualifications include certification as a Manual Handling or Abrasive Wheel instructor trainer, along with First Aid Training.
  • Previous experience in water, electricity, or telecoms civils utilities works is advantageous.
  • Possession of relevant certifications such as Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and a full driving license.


Salary and Conditions:
  • Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with potential for extra hours nearing project completion.
  • Office-based role with occasional travel to various worksites.
  • Work involves both indoor and outdoor environments, and exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • 21 days of annual leave provided, along with a company phone and laptop.
  • Access to a company vehicle and fuel card for work-related travel.
