Group Decarbonisation Lead
 
The role will report to the Head of Sustainability Programme Management, working closely with group sustainability specialists, operational sustainability leads and business units across global operations. 
 
The role will manage decarbonisation journey across 13 manufacturing sites globally, ensuring regulatory requirements, and group sustainability performance targets are met. Key areas of focus will include operational Scope 1 & 2 carbon emissions, energy efficiency, food waste, wastewater, water and waste.
 
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
  • Manage decarbonisation programme ensuring targets for Scope 1 and 2 emissions reduction and energy efficiency targets are met.
  • Manage manufacturing food waste reduction programme.
  • Manage manufacturing water, wastewater and waste reduction programmes.
  • Provide support for manufacturing efficiency project implementation.
  • Develop and share decarbonisation best practices group wide.
  • Engage with site leads, operations and engineering teams as well as the business operational excellence team.
  • Lead training and awareness programmes for operations.
  • Manage setting of annual budget targets for manufacturing sites.
  • Support manufacturing sites in meeting regulatory requirements.
  • Work with the Head of Sustainability to monitor and drive operations performance and communicate successes internally.
 
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
  • 5+ years of experience working in sustainability, operational excellence, engineering, project management or similar roles. 
  • A graduate or post graduate qualification in sustainability, energy engineering, food science, business or related fields. 
  • Good knowledge of operational excellence / continuous improvement / energy management systems and processes.
  • Good data management, reporting and IT skills. 
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills. 
  • Good knowledge of food manufacturing processes and systems.
