A General contractor working across the Commercial, Industrial, Educational, Healthcare and general building sectors. They also have a civil engineering division covering subsidence and conservation works. They generally cover across Cork, Kerry and Limerick.
The Role This contractor is growing their commercial team and need a graduate/junior level quantity Surveyor. Your duties will include;
Administer cost systems, change order logs, variations and claims register as directed by project QS.
Monitor all project costs as directed by the project QS.
Assist in procuring and letting subcontractor packages.
Validate subcontractors/suppliers' interim payments and submit to commercial team for approval.
Identify, document and track claims and variations with the project team.
Keep the project team informed of all commercial activity, report changes to project QS.
Maintain professional working relationships with the clients and the representatives to whom you are exposed to.
Ensure your cost reporting is accurate and submitted on time.
Assist in identifying commercial risks and change opportunities with project teams and report to project QS.
The Requirements
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying/Construction Economics.
Ability to communicate well with the project teams.
Good writing skills.
Willingness to learn and develop.
Demonstrates a commercial awareness and understanding.
Basic knowledge of construction process and techniques.
Attention to detail and strong work ethic.
Good I.T Skills (Microsoft Office/Build asift knowledge desirable)
