The Role
You will have the opportunity to work as a Junior Health & Safety Officer on a high rise development in Lucan. You will join the safety team working alongside an experienced Safety Officer who will be appointed your mentor. Your role will include;
  • Assist in the promotion and implementation of the requirements of the ISO accredited safety management system on site.
  • Be an influencer and offer encouragement to promote a positive EHS culture on site
  • Assist in reviewing subcontractor documentation
  • Assist in delivering the induction programmes for personnel working on site
  • Assist in reviewing Method Statements and Safe Plans of Action
  • Assist in the delivery of Safety Briefings
  • Assist in the day-to-day management of safety on site
  • Assist in the monitoring of environmental risks associated with the site work
  • Assist with the keeping of records associated with hazardous materials
  • Assist with monitoring and reviewing site performance through observations, inspections and audits
  • Promote the site Behavioural Based Safety programme
  • Monitoring first aid supplies, fire and AED equipment on site
  • Assisting the EHS team to improve safety culture across the company
  • Assist with compiling relevant information for inclusion in the Safety File
  • Assist the EHS Manager in conducting incident investigations where necessary
  • Any other duty assigned by the EHS Manager during the course of work
  
The Requirements
  • Ideally a Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health (level 6) or working towards this
  • Ideally up to 6 months construction experience
  • The individual must have a strong sense on honesty and integrity
  • A strong communicator, able to build positive working relationships, internally/externally across all levels of personnel
  • Good time keeping, attention to detail and problem-solving aptitudes
  • Innovative by sharing ideas and challenging standard practices
  • Be familiar with the use of the MS Office suite and adept at learning other software packages.
