I'm currently hiring for one of Ireland's leading water and civil infrastructural companies who are on the lookout for a General Foreman for a position based in the Cork area.
The person responsible for the management, supervision and coordination of site resources including sub-contractors to ensure all works are carried out safely, to a high standard of quality, on programme and within budget.

Responsibilities
Health and Safety
  • Understand the Safety Statement and ensure all works are undertaken in accordance with its requirements.
  • Ensure that HSQE Management Systems and processes are adhered to, implemented, and maintained.
  • Management and control of health and safety issues on site (including sub-contractors).
  • Ensure works are being planned and carried out in a safe manner.
  • Participate in the preparation of RAMS with the Site Agent/Project Manager.
  • Complete and brief SPA’s & toolbox talks.
  • You must ensure that all employees are inducted, made aware of the site rules and signed on to all relevant documentation, e.g. Inductions, RAMS, SPA’s, Permits etc.
  • Complete a minimum of one HSQE inspection on PowerApps per month.
Quality
  • Understand the projects quality requirements with regard to specifications, drawings etc. and ensure compliance on site.
  • Ensure all works are completed to a high standard, identify and rectify any defects in a timely manner and produce ‘Client Sign-off’ once works are satisfactorily completed.
  • NCR’s should be raised for defective works to ensure lessons learned are shared within the Coffey.
Environmental
  • Ensure Waste Management Permits are in place for all associated activities on site.
  • Ensure works are undertaken so they do not compromise the surrounding environment.
Planning
  • Manage and control site labour and sub-contractors.
  • Manage and control plant and equipment on site.
  • Participate in the development of lookahead programmes and ensure targets are achieved.
  • Understand tender/construction budget outputs including resource allocation and maximise productivity on site.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify and mentor potential future candidates for various roles.
Documentation and Meetings
  • Ensure all relevant documentation necessary for the execution of the works is in place prior to works commencing, e.g., RAMS, SPA’s, Permits etc.
  • Keeping up to date relevant site paperwork, e.g. Site Diary/Labour and Plant returns/etc.
  • Participate in internal site meetings as required and provide regular updates on the progress of works to the Site Agent/Project Manager.
  • Close out allocated actions from HSQE inspections (internal and external)
Commercial
  • Need to be aware of the cost on the contract at all times, e.g. productivity and outputs, minimise overtime, material wastage, etc.
  • Need to be familiar with the programme and what implication any overrun will have in relation to costs and manpower, i.e. cost to completion.
  • Need to be familiar with implications that any variation or change orders will have on the program and costs.
  • Need to identify any variation/delay to the contract works.
 
 
About You
 
 
  • Minimum 5 years relevant construction experience and performance on similar projects in Ireland or the UK.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to HSQE, Programme and Cost.
  • Completion of the Site Safety Supervisor Programme (or similar)
  • Full Clean Driving License
  • No sponsorship available
  • Excellent written & spoken English.
