The Role.
Looking for an experienced EHS Manager to join our team.
Responsible for overseeing environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives related to the company's operations. Their role involves a range of responsibilities aimed at minimizing environmental impact and ensuring adherence to relevant regulations.
 
Location: Wicklow
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Technical report writing including preparation of CEMP, RWMP, EERP and documents that underpin them.
  • Preparation of Waste Classification Reports.
  • Monitor construction activities performance to ensure that identified and appropriate control measures are effective and ensure compliance with CEMP and Planning consent conditions.
  • Manage the completion of annual and periodic reporting to the Local Authority as required by the Waste Collection Permit, and Waste Facility Permit.
  • Ensure waste is managed and disposed in a proper manner and all documentation and records are maintained, kept up to date and filed away as appropriate.
  • Ownership and maintenance of environmental SOPs in alignment with Irish legal requirements and ISO 14001 certification.
  • Lead in investigations of Environmental incidents and near-misses to identify root causes, develop corrective actions, and prevent recurrences.
  • Providing leadership by overseeing, guiding, and managing junior team members and sub-consultants to meet project requirements effectively.
  • Identify training needs and provide training to colleagues and the Environmental Team where required.
  • Communicating with clients, external stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and sub-contractors to ensure compliance with all project requirements.
  • Develop, prepare, and implement key environmental compliance metrics and reports, to share with the Senior Management Team and Operations on a weekly/monthly basis as required.
  • Monitor and gain a full understanding of relevant environmental legislation updates and regulations impacting on the business, ensuring necessary changes are applied promptly and in accordance with standard procedure.
  • Good communication and people management skills. Comfortable at representing the Company in industry, stakeholder, and other relevant external group settings.
 
The Candidate: Required Experience and Competencies:
  • Full clean driver’s license essential.
  • A relevant qualification is desirable.
  • Construction experience is essential.
  • Minimum of 8-year experience
  • Confident, motivated and can work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines.
  • Time management abilities to meet targets.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and people management skills.
  • Integrity and respect for confidentiality and privacy.
  • Good IT proficiency with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint.
