Position Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to join our Procurement team. The Buyer will play a critical role in sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for our construction projects. This position is key to ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities - Sourcing & Procurement:
- Identify and evaluate suppliers to source materials, equipment, and services in line with project requirements and company standards.
- Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve cost savings and value for money.
- Inventory & Cost Management:
- Monitor stock levels to ensure timely delivery of materials to site, minimizing delays to construction schedules.
- Ensure procurement aligns with project budgets and provide regular cost analysis reports.
- Supplier Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability and quality of products and services.
- Conduct performance reviews and address any supplier issues promptly and effectively.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier performance.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, and other departments to understand project needs and specifications.
- Provide support to the Procurement Manager and contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes.
Qualifications & Experience - Proven experience as a Buyer, preferably in the construction or civil engineering industry.
- Strong understanding of construction materials, equipment, and services.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of procurement regulations and standards is an advantage.
Education - Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
